Description
Airlie Beach is a seaside village in the Whitsunday Shire, Queensland, Australia. Airlie Beach is known as the Heart of Australia's Great Barrier Reef due to its position near the centre of the reef that stretches for two thousand kilometres along the coast. Airlie Beach and the nearby Whitsunday Islands enjoy a tropical climate and lifestyle.
Airlie Beach - gateway to the Whitsundays - is a colourful, cosmopolitan and inviting holiday town lying on the shores of a palm-fringed beach and overlooking the calm waters of Pioneer Bay dotted with yachts. Airlie is part of a picturesque peninsula that reaches out to the Whitsunday Passage and provides the ideal mainland base for holiday fun and adventure in the Whitsundays.
The mainland's dining and entertainment options centre around Airlie Beach, ranging from silver service resort dining to al fresco cafes and cheap eats, while Airlie's clubs and bars provide plenty of entertainment well into the night.
I went bushwalking and found some ants building a nest with leaves. You can actually eat the green part of the ant - it is really tasty and gives you a lot of energy! NO JOKE!!! :)
One of the spiders I saw was bigger then my hand! Scary... :/
