Description
Nambung is a national park in Western Australia (Australia), 162 km northwest of Perth. It contains the Pinnacles Desert.
The Pinnacles Desert is situated in the Nambung National Park it`s 250 Ks North from Perth and one of Australia's best known landscapes. Nambung National Park covers an area of 17491 ha. Here, thousands of huge limestone pillars rise from the shifting yellow sands, resembling a landscape from a science fiction movie.
As of February 2007, entrance to the park costs AUS$10.00 per car, or AUS$4.00 per person on a tourbus. The area receives over 250 000 visitors a year. A new Visitor precinct and interpretive centre will be completed in December 2007.
