Toowomba is Queensland biggest inland city with a population of over 96’000. It is perched on the Great Dividing Range just an hour and a half west of Brisbane and two hours from the Gold Coast. The city is steeped in heritage and natural beauty and offers breathtaking views of the Lockyer Valley 700m below.
The “Garden City of Queensland” is one of the few destinations in Queensland with four distinct seasons. There are over 240 beautiful public parks and gardens with excellent facilities including children’s play areas, bike paths, picnic areas and barbecues. Queen’s Park is the host for the city’s major celebrations and events including Carnival of Flowers and the Australian Gospel Music Festival. The famous Carnival of Flowers is annually held in September. This fabulous 10 day celebration captivates the senses with spring flowers, food, wine, live entertainment and more than 40 cultural events. One of the highlights is still the Grand Central Floral Parade on the first Saturday of celebrations.
